Current Photography Setup
I'm a bit of a gear snob. In year's past, I have continually acquired and sold photography equipment, stepping closer to my personal perfection, one lens and camera at a time.
I am currently focusing on shooting with the 28mm perspective, although I much prefer 35mm. If both a 35mm version of the Leica Q and the Ricoh GR were available, I would switch immediately.
I whole-heartedly recommend these Fuji cameras for literally anyone who is looking to get a great camera today. Fuji is the new Leica. It's true! Fuji is making the world's best cameras, in every way, especially when it comes to functional design considerations. They are the only company that putting a priority on Human-Centered Design that isn't also charging $7,000 for their cameras.
If you always shoot 35mm, the x100 is the world's most perfect camera.
If you prefer interchangeable lenses, the X-T2 is the best there is.
If you prefer compact zooms, the x30 is the best there is. Fuji is the new Leica.
So, the next question is, obviously, "So why do you shoot with a Leica then?". To be honest, there's just something special about the act of photography when I'm using my Leica. The act of using a rangefinder, brining two planes of light together, mechanically, is a very spiritual experience for me. I can feel it deeply within myself, and it shows in my photography when I'm using my Leica.
That doesn't mean I think you should get one, though. You'd have to be crazy.
